Title
sunset sky house renovation( Izumo)
2014
Comment
We left the main house built in the early Showa period intact, removed the parts that were added after the war, and renovated the DK and the bathroom.
The cliff on the south side was cut away to improve the living environment and make it bright and airy. We considered future uses for the main house and detached building while considering the growth of the family. We reviewed the layout plan for the bedrooms, DK, bathroom, etc. These were the main points of the renovation.
The site was on a small hill, and the backyard had a great view overlooking Lake Jinzai. In response to the request to “see the sunset spreading across the sky,” we installed large high-sided glass on the west side and made the roof a rafter structure that does not interfere with the picturesque sunset sky. The globe-shaped lighting was an idea given to us by the wife while we were looking for lighting fixtures for the dining table, and by randomly hanging large, medium, and small lighting fixtures in the large atrium, a visual change was created as the viewpoint changed.
