Rather than just leaving the old building, we wanted to make improvements to make it more modern while preserving the structure of the old house. To brighten the living space on the north side, we made the north and south rooms into one room, with a skylight in the center to ensure light and ventilation.
We built a new concrete foundation to repair the fallen pillars, and added a cypress lattice wall to the main pillar to ensure structural strength.
The living space is divided by sliding doors, so the presence of the family can be felt, and the house can be flexibly adapted to hosting a large number of guests, making it a place where friends can gather.
