The family wanted a house with a white triangular roof, and this house explored the comfort of a small home while taking advantage of the view from the hilltop.
By using plastered walls and solid wood, we wanted to create a small but cozy home with the feel of handwork and the warmth that comes with age.
The wife’s favorite colors, pink and blue, were added to the cubicle, loft, and circulation route, which I think adds to the fun.
The opening heights on both the first and second floors were lowered so that the view is only visible when seated, allowing for a view and a sense of calm. The window sill on the second floor can also be used as a seat to enjoy the view.
The second floor was left unfinished to make it easier to raise children, and the entire house was made into a one-room apartment through the atrium. The atrium was placed in the center of the house as a device to foster consideration while creating an indoor environment with no temperature difference during ventilation in summer and heating in winter.
