Comment
They purchased an old house as their final home, and worked on the renovation themselves, commuting from Nagoya, and finished renovating the main living space in two years. During this time, their son also moved to Izumo and got married, and their life became more lively as more relatives lived there. Perhaps old houses have the power to connect people.
There were no blueprints for the renovation work, and the direction was decided through on-site discussions each time, and most of the work, from demolition to carpentry, was completed by DIY.
The husband’s renovated rooms are decorated with the wife’s stained glass works, and the couple’s uncompromising nesting instinct can be felt in this home.
