Title
square roof in unnan( Izumo)
2020
Comment
The house is a self-supporting square structure compared to the large main house next door, with a 5-bay square plan and a 6-inch sloped roof, and the second floor is set up to avoid privacy being overlooked. The site is on a slope with a height difference of 1.5m, but the plan was made to connect to the land by adjusting the foundation height without installing a retaining wall.
In response to the request for a “spacious living room even with furniture, large windows with an open feeling, functional housework flow and ample storage space,” a large opening for the living/dining/kitchen area is set up under a deep eaves, and a deck is extended to the south.
The second floor, which is the attic, is a space that connects to the atrium of the living room, and is planned to measure gravity ventilation through the atrium with a balcony and a retractable skylight, and the structural materials such as corner beams and girders are exposed so that the square structure can be seen, and the walls are solid.
The second floor is a calm space, but with a balcony and a view, it has a relaxing feel like a hideaway with a good view, and we hope that it will be a place to reset your daily life.
